The Office of Energy & Sustainability invites you to clean up your lab space during the month of September and check for unwanted materials and equipment. You'll be able to dispose or exchange your materila during two events in October: the Free Disposal of Equipment and the Lab Supplies Exchange Day.
- On October 1-15, you may dispose of unwanted equipment at no cost to your lab.
Submit a work request to Facilities & Campus Services between October 1 and 15
Place the discount code, LAB CLEANUP in the Account # section of the request
- Your pick-up fee will be waived
Important: Built-in furniture will not be accepted. Equipment needs to be cleared by EHS via this Decontamination Form before submitting a work request to Facilities & Campus Services. Please send the completed Decontamination Form to ehs@med.cornell.edu.
- Lab Supplies Exchange Day, October 7, 9 am- 3:30 pm: Drop off your unwanted supplies and browse what others have donated and take what your lab needs. More details here.
Important: No chemicals or hazardous materials permitted. Small instruments and pieces of equipment are required to be cleaned/disinfected and cleared by EHS by Friday, October 3. Please complete and attach the equipment decontamination form prior to contacting EHS.
Small instruments and pieces of equipment can include: Pipettors, Bench top centrifuges, Water baths, Thermocyclers, Electrophoresis boxes, Vortexer, and similar items.
