Backup defrosting ULT freezer.
Please fill out the form below in order to reserve the backup ultra-low temperature freezer for your defrosting maintenance (for a maximum of one week). This unit is located in the mechanical room on the 8th floor of the 1300 York Avenue building. Note: this is not a freezer for emergencies. In case of freezer failure, contact the Facilities dispatch line at 212-746-2288, where someone is always on call and able to assist you.
Allow for a few days to receive confirmation of your booking and to obtain instructions on how to access the space.
Note: this unit can also be set to -20°C if you need to defrost your -20°C freezer.
A defrosting kit consisting of cooler, ice scraper, brush, and cloth wipes is also available upon request.
